Curandero Training
(for approved applicants only)
Next program - march 1st - 7th, 2025
Prior to our regular Magic of the Amazon retreat, we have started to offer a more advanced training for those who would like to learn to contribute to ceremonies in a service role. This one week program is intended for those who have taken part in at least one of our full retreats, or can demonstrate sufficient experience with another teacher or program. Interviews will be required.
This training is intended to familiarize the student with the structure of an Ayahuasca ceremony as led in the Rivas lineage, and how to be of service in assisting during the ceremony. Topics that we will cover include: Safety, Ethics, How to recognize when someone is in distress and what to do and not to do, Methods of working with Mapacho to clear and move energies, and other topics relating to the protocol of a ceremony. There will be two Ayahuasca ceremonies during this week to practice some of what you have learned while with the medicine.
We will also be working with other medicines during a brief dieta, to focus our minds and spirits for this healing work. During this time, we will also learn about the uses of other natural medicines used for common maladies. As each group is different, there will be some innovation to the material presented and we will do our best to address specific areas of interest. These groups will be smaller than a regular retreat, so access to the teachers, Viejo, Nina and Crow will be greater for individuals needs.
There will also be some downtime to integrate what we have learned. There may be time for a swim, a visit with don Agustin, or a trip into the village. However each training proceeds, you are sure to learn some valuable skills and enhance your future Ayahuasca ceremony experiences! The cost of this program is $1300 USD. (A 15% discount to this program will be applied for those who remain for the regular MOTA retreat.) Request your interview here.
